Can you speak?

Any good public relations professional should be a good public speaker. If they lack the necessary skills, they need to acquire the skills ASAP. Here are some characteristics of a good speaker: Eye contact with the audience, animated, humorous, deliberate gestures, articulate, vocal variety. A few of my favorite public speakers are President Obama, Oprah, former President Clinton, Les Brown, and J.C. Haywood. Who are some of your favorite speakers?

  1. One of my favorite speakers is President Obama. He is not afraid to let there be silence. A pet peeve of mine is um and uh as if you are unintelligent and can not formulate a complete thought.

  2. I agree completely with your statement "Any good public relations professional should be a good public speaker. If they lack the necessary skills, they need to acquire the skills ASAP." Even being a student studying public relations you begin to see the need to have good social skills and to be able to adapt to people and your surroundings because you always want to be intone with your audience.

  4. I agree public speaking is so important. As a student I think it so important to know how to properly speak to an set audience. I think in college professors should stress this concept to all students.
